The College of Agricultural Enginnering and Post-harvest Technology is located in Ranipool, near Gangtok in East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is 12 km from Gangtok main town. It has three roads which lead to Singtam, Pakyong and Gangtok.

Gangtok is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The name Gangtok is derived from the Tibetan word for 'hillside,' and the city currently has a population of around 80,000 - a mixture of indigenous Sikkimese and people of Nepalese and Tibetan ancestry.

Gangtok is a popular place with tourists heading on treks,  Gangtok could easily be one of the cleanest cities you've ever come across. Highly organised and beautifully maintained, it used to be the Switzerland of the east.

Bus Services to Gangtok 

Bus service is available between Siliguri and Gangtok. Sikkim Nationalized Transport (SNT) operates Sikkim state run buses from its bus terminal at Siliguri (close to the Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminal on Hill Cart Road). From NJP you can take an Auto Rickshaw and reach the bus terminus in about 10-15 minutes. Note that the buses will also drop you at the Deorali stand near Gangtok which is about 2kms from the town center. From there you will need to take a local taxi to reach your hotel/venue.

Rail Services to Gangtok 

The nearest train station to Gangtok is New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri all trains originating from Guwahati to rest of the country passes through New Jalpaiguri and hence has direct connections to New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Jammu, Secunderabad, Ranchi, Kanniyakumari, Jodhpur, Jodhpur, Puri, Bhubaneswar,Amritsar, Chandigarh, Pune, and other major cities in India. It is a 10-12 hour journey from Kolkata.

Plane Services to Gangtok

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra (IXB) situated about 40 mins drive to Siliguri.Bus service is available between Siliguri and Gangtok. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport,  From Bagdogra Airport vehicles/taxis can be hired from the pre-paid taxi counter to reach Gangtok.  If one wishes to go via sharing taxis,then outside the airport there are many local taxis plying towards Siliguri.In Siliguri (Junction area)there are many taxi plying towards Sikkim.

Also one can take Travel upto Patna and Overnight Buses to Gangtok are available in the night. 

Accomadations : Gangtok offers a very wide range of hotels and other accommodation facilities to suit every budget.  Participants are advised to contact the hotels directly and book their accommodation.
